Set Up Your Sleep Environment
"The 60-Minute Digital Sunset"
When evening screen exposure delays natural melatonin production, your nervous system remains on high alert and it can be hard to fall asleep. Tonight, try dimming the overhead lights and setting electronic devices aside 60 minutes before sleep. Replace screen time with low-stimulation activities like journaling, reading, drinking herbal tea, or performing light mobility stretches.
Mind Racing and Can't Unwind to Sleep? Try This.
Extended exhalations trigger the vagal nerve, lowering heart rate and signaling restorative calm before sleep. Try this: breathe in while you count to 3, breath out while you count to 5 or 6. Repeat for 5 breaths.
